A flexible, versatile 2-in-1 diaper-pant for active babies, from crawling through potty training.
Will our diapers do your dishes and taxes? Probably not. However, a really great baby diaper experience can help soften the landing into new parenthood in a few key ways.
Minimized leaks and blowouts can mean you’re not waking up 3 times in the middle of the night to change diapers, clothes, and crib sheets.
Apparel-grade, dermatologist-tested materials and clean diaper ingredients can provide your baby comfort and you some valuable peace of mind.
And you can’t underestimate the convenience of a diaper subscription (especially with some babies needing half a dozen diapers a day). Our diaper subscription means the diapers show up to your door automatically on a schedule that works for you—no more 10 PM runs to the store when you inevitably realize mid-diaper change that you are, in fact, out of diapers.
Diaper rash is very common! About half of all babies develop diaper rash at some point during their first years. Excess moisture can lead to microbial growth and skin irritation—the diaper area is damp, warm, and an ideal environment for bacteria and yeast. Diapers that hold moisture well and absorb quickly can help minimize the likelihood of diaper rash. Based on lab testing, The Diaper absorbs liquid in seconds and keeps skin dry to reduce the likelihood of irritation.
Fragrances, certain dyes, and chemicals like chlorine may also contribute to skin barrier disruption.
Believe it or not, baby diapers aren’t a regulated product category since they’re not intended to be ingested or absorbed by the skin (even though babies are in close contact with their diapers almost 24/7 for their first years of life!). However, as a team of many parents, we go above and beyond industry norms in developing our safety standards with third-party labs (since these labs aren’t affiliated with our brand, there aren’t result biases).
Our diapers undergo two types of tests: The first is an analytical test where an independent lab evaluates the diapers to ensure they’re free (or below detectable levels) from potentially harmful chemicals. The second is the HRIPT test for skin sensitivity, conducted by trained clinicians and supervised by dermatologists. All materials that may come in contact with babies’ skin are tested to make sure they don’t cause allergic reactions or sensitivities—this lets us say our diapers are hypoallergenic.
You know that uncomfortable feeling when your pants are a button too tight? We all just want to be comfortable, and your baby is no different. Ensuring you have a properly sized and fitted diaper can help keep them comfortable and happy, and can even help minimize leaks and blowouts.
A properly fitted baby diaper sits snug on the waist right at, or just slightly below the belly button. The tabs fasten right in the middle of the landing zone (no overlapping!), and there are no gaps in the waist or around the legs.
For more info, you can reference our Sizing 101. And when you sign up for our diaper subscription, we’ll also include a Trial Pack of the next size up so you can test out which one is most comfortable for your baby, and see when it’s time to size up.
Many of us are parents, so we’ve been there. It’s tough—but normal!—when the changing table brings on tears and tantrums. Here’s our tips for when you sense a diaper change meltdown on the horizon:
1. Communicate what you’re doing! Diaper changes can be really overwhelming as a baby, and they don’t have many tools to express themselves. Narrating the diaper changing process out loud—like, ”now I’m going to wipe you! We’re getting you clean and comfortable”—can give your child a sense of routine and understanding.
2. Use diaper changes as a time to bond and interact positively. Let your baby play with a special toy that’s reserved for diaper changing time, put on a favorite song, and say positive phrases with lots of affection.
3. If you’re dealing with an especially wiggly baby—or one who’s recently discovered the new skill of running away, it could be a perfect time to try . It’s our diaper-pant hybrid specifically designed for easy changes for those babies known to make diaper changes resemble alligator wrestling matches.
